A Quest for Truth
More than 14 years ago when I switched to a vegetarian lifestyle, I began vigorously reading labels on every food item I purchased, and then every beauty care item. Although I shopped solely at health food stores, I discovered that even there, pretty little packaging and some good marketing techniques were actually fooling me about what the product actually contained. Aromatherapy, with fragrance oil? I don't think so. 100% natural, but preserved with parabens and not a single organic ingredient? No thanks. This discovery was shocking and horrifying, but at the same time very exciting as it opened my senses to beautiful and exquisite plant-based essential oils, and the skin-loving abilities of Shea Butter, Olive & Coconut Oils, Jojoba, CO2 Extracts, and more. I knew there had to be a better, simpler, and more effective way to nurture my sensitive skin. After all, I was trying to eat all organic. Why not feed my skin naturally as well?

As I read and experimented with everything I could get my hands on involving herbal skincare, I quickly discovered and gradually perfected my passion of mixing, formulating and harmonizing these truly remarkable natural ingredients, and turned that energy into a business. At the time it was also just the most natural step. I was just finishing up a Bachelor's degree in Plant & Soil Science, with my emphasis on herbs, and studying with Rosemary Gladstar's Science & Art of Herbalism where I earned a Certified Herbalist degree.
